Amazon May Ban Account for Taking Screenshots in Prime Video

Reddit Posts Screenshot Saying:

News has surfaced online that Amazon has added a new warning to Prime Video users. Some users are receiving a message stating that taking a screenshot may result in their account being blocked. The warning does not explain whether taking a screenshot will be the only reason for blocking.

A screenshot of the message was posted by a user on Reddit’s r/Piracy subreddit . However, there is no other evidence that such a warning actually exists.

According to a Reddit user, the warning appears when you start watching the movie. In addition to warning about blocking your account for taking a screenshot, the message says that Amazon may remove the movie from the platform without prior notice. The warning also says that scenes in some movies and TV shows may be changed to comply with Amazon’s current standards. What standards exactly are not specified, but on Reddit, users have already called such actions censorship.

It is unclear how the user was able to take a screenshot of the warning if screenshots are prohibited. Perhaps this is a new technology that prohibits taking screenshots only while watching a video. Or this feature does not yet work for all users.
